Nationwide protests against the mining of shale gas was organized in 12 cities in Bulgaria. Demands of the protesters were to introduce a moratorium on exploration and production of shale gas using the hydraulic breaker. Protests are in Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Shumen, Dobrich, Blagoevgrad, Veliko Ta ovo, Kazanlak, Pleven, Rousse, Smolyan, and in European capitals, London and Copenhagen. author: Стефан Марков Nationwide protests against the mining of shale gas were organized in 12 cities in Bulgaria on Jan. 14, 2012. Demands of the protesters were to introduce a moratorium on exploration and production of shale gas using the hydraulic breaker. Protests are in Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Shumen, Dobrich, Blagoevgrad, Veliko Tarnovo, Kazanlak, Pleven, Rousse, Smolyan, and in European capitals, London and Copenhagen.
