Nationwide protests against the mining of shale gas was organized in 12 cities in Bulgaria. Demands of the protesters were to introduce a moratorium on exploration and production of shale gas using the hydraulic breaker. Protests are in Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Shumen, Dobrich, Blagoevgrad, Veliko Tarnovo, Kazanlak, Pleven, Rousse, Smolyan, and in European capitals, London and Copenhagen. There they were organized by the Bulgarian communities
