Thousands of people has come in the center of Sofia, at the “Batenberg” boulevard to celebrate together the New Year and the subscription of Bulgaria to the European Union
with live concert of Bulgarian folk groups and rock and pop bands “Shturcite”, “Signal”, “Btr” and “FSB”. Minutes before midnight the prime minister Sergei Stanishev congratulate with short speech thousands of citizens and guests of Sofia. Ten minutes before 24 th hour of the year 2006 the president of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov congratulated the crowd and everyone in front of the TV with the New Year 2007 and the subscription to EU. The entering of Bulgaria in EU was signed with lots of lights, pyrotechnics and firecrackers.
