Russian president Vladimir Putin arrived in Bulgaria
Russian president Vladimir Putin arrived in Bulgarian capital Sofia for a two-day visit to the country. On the airport he was welcomed by the bulgarian foreign minister Ivailo Kalfin and the ambasador of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria Anatolii Potapov. With Putin in Sofia has arrived his most probable successor Dmitrij Medvedev.
Putin's visit to Bulgaria will kick off the celebrations of the Year of Russia in Bulgaria, linked to the 130th anniversary of the country's independence from Turkish rule following the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-78.
